Below is a description of each of the co-curriculars & clubs:

BOOK CLUB
Interested students choose books to read and share their thoughts on those books.

BRITISH HUMOUR SOCIETY
This club provides an opportunity for students who like British Humor to enjoy it with each other by watching videotapes and films. The society also participates in school activities such as the Varsity Show and the Carnival.

CHEERLEADERS
Students with a minimum of a C average and with pep, enthusiasm, poise, good grooming, and skill in movement try out in the spring of the year after a series of practice sessions; students selected lead cheers at athletic contests, promote good sportsmanship, and help to build support for the team. Cheerleaders are a part of the Athletic Department.

CHESS TEAM
The Chess Team promotes students playing chess for fun and competition. Students develop logical, analytical, and strategic thought processes.

CLOSE UP CLUB
Close Up Club is a government study club. Nicolet's Close Up sponsors mock elections, prepares resolutions for the state caucus, and spends an intense week in Washington, D.C.

COMEDY SPORTZ
A high school comedy improvisation team which will compete against other schools.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING TEAM
This is an extracurricular opportunity for students to expand their technology experiences.

DANCE TEAM
Students with an interest in performing during half time of football games and boys and girls basketball games and are talented at dance and choreography can try out for this energy filled activity. Drill Team is a part of the Athletic Department.

DEBATE
Students who are interested meet weekly to examine and analyze a given proposition; members of the team participate in interscholastic debates.

ECO (Environmental Conservation Organization) Club
This club challenges any student who wants to better our earth, to think globally and act locally to positively effect our environment.

FORENSICS
Students may participate in public speaking, oral interpretation, and dramatic events. Members of the team enter interscholastic meets and participate in regional and state-wide contests.

FRENCH CLUB
Students who are presently enrolled in French classes or those with an interest in the language, customs, and culture of France participate in club activities to foster a better understanding of French speaking peoples.

FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY(SOCIETE HONORAIRE DE FRANCAIS)
Juniors and seniors chosen by the French Department on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, and interest in French culture. Students complete 5 service hours before making application.

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA)
A local, state, and national business organization for students interested in pursuing careers in business. Activities include attending leadership conferences, participating in competitions, school activities, and various social functions.

GERMAN CLUB
Students who are in a German class or those with interest in the language, customs, and culture are invited to participate in such activities as German conversation, plays, songs, movies, and student programs.

GERMAN HONOR SOCIETY
Juniors and seniors elected by the German Department on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, and interest in German culture. Students earn service points before initiation.

HEBREW CLUB
Open to all students currently enrolled in Hebrew class or who have an interest in the language. Varied activities foster an understanding of Israel and its culture, including Israeli dancing, films, and an Israeli dinner. Members also participate in Ethnic Heritage Day.

HUMAN RELATIONS COALITION
Students help to create diversity and culture awareness, help prevent incidents of prejudice and discrimination, and create a better overall school environment.

INTRAMURALS
Intramural opportunities are available through the Nicolet Recreation Department. Intramurals provide students with an excellent alternative to athletic programming. With student interest and involvement, new intramural programs can be initiated. Contact the Nicolet Recreation Department - Room A106, at 351-7566 for more information.

KNIGHT'S PAGE
Members are selected for this class in the spring on the basis of qualifications, interests, and experiences; this group produces the school newspaper.

LATIN CLUB
Latin students meet semi-monthly. Activities include participation in Foreign Language Week, money-making activities, Roman banquet, chariot races, and Ides of March celebration.

LIBRARY/AV/MAC LAB CLUB
A service club in which students help fellow students and teachers with their library, AV, and MAC Lab needs.

L.U.N.A. (Latinos Unidos con Nuestros Amigos)
Latino and non-Latino students learn and participate in various Latino dancing and develop pride in the richness and diversity of the culture.

MATH TEAMS
Students interested in mathematics are encouraged to participate in individual and team competitions held throughout the school year.

MEN OF COLOR
The Men of Color is a group designed to give young men of all cultural racial, and ethnic backgrounds, a chance to discuss numerous contemporary issues. The group sponsors many important activities and is the group for Nicolet Men.

MOCK TRIAL
Students interested in public speaking, the criminal justice system and the law.

MOVIE CLUB
This is a club to promote quality film viewing and discussion.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
A national organization recognizing student excellence in academic and personal achievement. Juniors and seniors are invited based on grade point and attendance/behavioral record, and are selected by the committee on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. NHS members will complete 25 hours of service to the school/community as well as leading fund drives for organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.

NICOLET AIDS PREVENTION ORGANIZATION (N.A.P.O.)
The goal of this group is to educate people about the truth and reality of AIDS. The organization does sponsor fund raisers for Camp Heartland and The Milwaukee AIDS Project.

NICOLET GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE
Students form a subgroup of the Human Relations Coalition that will encourage mutual respect and awareness between all protected discrimination categories and encourage understanding and implementation of School Board policy with respect to these protected categories.

NICOLET JUGGLING CLUB
Students committed to teaching and promoting juggling and other related activities. All students interested in learning how to juggle are welcome to join.

NICOLET OUTDOOR CLUB
The Nicolet Outdoor Club (NOC) meets to have fun while learning about the out-of-doors. Highlights include greenhouse plant sale projects, local outings, cross-country skiing, and a canoeing/camping trip.

NICOLET WATER POLO CLUB
The Water Polo Club provides an opportunity for any student to compete in intramural and interscholastic water polo.

SAILING CLUB
To afford any student the opportunity to learn the basics of sailing and experience the competition of racing, if interested.

SCIENCE CLUB
These clubs explore the fields of astronomy, rocketry, and related science fields. Club activities are designed to allow for the interest of students involved.

SHIELD
Students who are interested in publishing the yearbook may register for this class. Skills in writing, photography, art, layout, and editing are needed.

SISTERS UNITED OF NICOLET (S.U.N)
This club encourages young women to reach their potential and become positive role models in the Nicolet Community.

SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPANICA (Spanish Honorary Society)
Juniors and seniors chosen by the Spanish Department on the basis of scholarship, character, and interest in the Spanish culture. Students must serve a probationary period and earn fifteen points before November initiation.

SPANISH CLUB
This club promotes the study of the Spanish language and culture. It provides all Spanish students with the opportunity to participate together in special cultural activities such as the Dead Bread Contest, Tapas Party, Holiday Folk Fair Trip, and many others. Club membership is open to all.

STAGE CREW
An organization of students who build the scenery for Nicolet Theatre productions. More experienced stage crew members can go on to become stage managers or lighting technicians.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Elected officers and representatives from each class meet weekly to provide a form of student government essential for the all-around development of student leaders. Activities include fund raising events, student exchanges with other schools, and participation in the establishment of school policies and procedures.

STUDENTS CONCERNED FOR THE FUTURE
Students interested in broad, long-range concerns such as raising money for those who have little and expressing themselves at political functions..

STUDENTS 2 STUDENTS
Provide mediation, counseling, tutoring and mentoring for Nicolet students and middle school students.

STUDY TECHNIQUES AND ACADEMIC REINFORCEMENT
To provide tutoring assistance – by students for students.

THEATRE CLUB
Students learn about the need of upcoming productions and can become members of different crews such as make-up, publicity, and props.

THESPIANS (International Thespian Society)
A world-wide honors organization for high school theater participants.

T.R.Y. (Teachable, Reachable, Youth)
T.R.Y. is an organization composed of students in each grade level. The purpose of this group is to promote human relations in the building and in the community. There are three independent components of T.R.Y. They are Human Relations; Study Techniques and Academic Reinforcement (STAR), and Community Services.

UNITED NATIONS/ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES
Students will research issues dealing with topics that come before these institutions. There will be an opportunity to attend conferences at both the regional and national level.

VARSITY CLUB
Varsity Club is a service organization. Students who have earned a varsity letter on a Nicolet athletic team may join to carry out service activities of the school and have social activities for members.

YIELD PROGRAM
YIELD PROGRAM is a leadership training program which is combined with civic involvement. It is offered for sophomores and juniors. The program involves a summer weekend retreat and monthly meetings throughout the school year.

YOUTH COUNCIL
All students interested in planning and carrying out social events open to the entire school, usually away from the school environment. The club's primary objective is to promote school unity. Clubs and organizations which require some preparation and may use tryouts for selection of teams or participants.
